This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all paid subscriptions for the AutoFile platform operated by AutoFile Tech LLC ("AutoFile", "we", "us", or "our").
1. Free Trial
All paid plans include a free trial period. During the trial, you can use the full features of your chosen plan at no cost. You will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel at any time during the trial without being charged.
2. Subscription Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method at the start of each billing cycle.
Certain plans (such as accounting firm plans) include a base subscription fee plus variable fees for linked child accounts. The base fee covers your primary workspace, while each active child account incurs an additional per-account fee. These child account fees are calculated based on the number of active child accounts during the billing period and are charged alongside your base subscription fee.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting us at support@autofile.tech.
Upon cancellation:
- You will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period;
- Your account will be downgraded to the Free plan at the end of the billing period;
- Your documents and data will remain accessible on the Free plan, subject to its storage limits;
- No further charges will be made to your payment method;
- If your plan includes child accounts, all linked child accounts will be deactivated at the end of the billing period. No refunds will be issued for child account fees already incurred during the current billing cycle.
4. Refund Policy
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may issue a refund at our discretion in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate charges — if you were charged more than once for the same billing period;
- Service unavailability — if the Service experienced significant downtime during your billing period that prevented normal use;
- Billing errors — if you were charged after a valid cancellation request.
Child account fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle has begun. Because child account fees are based on actual usage during the billing period, they are considered earned upon activation. If you remove a child account mid-cycle, you will not be charged for that account in the next billing period, but no refund or credit will be issued for the current period.
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge in question by contacting us at support@autofile.tech.
5. Plan Changes
You may upgrade or downgrade your subscription plan at any time:
- Upgrades take effect immediately. You will be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period;
- Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period. You will retain access to your current plan's features until then.
6. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription fees upon 30 days' written notice. If you do not agree with the new pricing, you may cancel your subscription before the new fees take effect.
